If you’re in the citrus industry in Florida, mark your calendar for Feb. 8, 2017 and plan to attend the Postbloom Fruit Drop (PFD) and Disease Management Seminar in Arcadia. Chemical Containers is proud to be a co-sponsor for the event, which is led by Steve Futch, a Multi-County IFAS Extension Agent. It’s free to attend, but registration is required. Click here to download the flier with all the details to get signed up.

Remarking on why the meeting was organized, Futch states that “Since PFD was a major production issue in the spring of 2016, I felt it was important to reach out to other areas in the world and invite speakers (international and local) to participate in the seminar to share their experiences and methods for controlling PFD. Program speakers will include: Drs. Geraldo Silva and Franklin Behlau are from FundeCitrus in Araraquara, Sao Paulo, Brazil and Drs. Natalia Peres and Megan Dewdney with the University of Florida.”

This is a timely event since trees in our area are beginning to bloom and spring flush is starting to appear. Many growers are preparing for their first ground spray application of the season. The key to an accurate spray application is properly calibrated sprayer equipment. From new spray tips to sprayer repair parts, remember Chemical Containers for all your spray equipment needs and expert advice on proper sprayer calibration.

Kieth Hollingsworth, one of our customer reps with a focus on the agriculture industry, will be at the seminar to answer any questions attendees might have on calibrating sprayers and the right equipment to use to gear up for spring.
