How many homes can a pesticide spray rig treat per tank?[Click to Expand]
According to University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), you can estimate coverage with the following formula:
Coverage per tank = Tank gallons ÷ Spray rate
For example, if a 100-gallon skid sprayer is calibrated to apply 2.5 gallons per 1,000 sq ft, one tank covers about 40,000 square feet.
If you spray a 3-foot perimeter band (~600 sq ft) around a typical 1,500 sq ft home, that works out to about 60–65 homes per tank.
